We stopped here for lunch today and found one of the best pub meals and ambiance for a long time. As we walked through the door we were greeted cheerily and the friendly, helpful service continued throughout. The menu changes frequently and so they have it on blackboards. I ended up having a superb steak, kidney and mushroom pie with really tender meat and gravy under a crispy home made pastry crust. My wife had bream in a Herby crust which was also superb. Both with crispy wholesome chips and a selection of vegetables. Mains seem to be between £6.95 and £9.95, with cheaper light bites. All washed down with a good choice of draught ciders. The garden looks lovely (a bit too cold to eat out today), and the toilets were the cleanest and freshest I have ever come across in a pub. Highly recommended.
