I went to Sycamore Farm last week for the first time. The food was marvellous, and plenty of it. I will be going again.

Me and my family recently visited your restaurant on a visit from Northern Ireland, and we were very very impressed with everything about the place. On entering the premises we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, who quickly escorted us to the area of the restaurant that fully met our needs, and explained clearly how the ordering system worked, and also went to bring us the highchair we requested. I then went to place the entire order for 8 people, and ordered drinks along with this. We then went to pick up our carvery meals....each person was given the full attention of the server until they had exactly what they required. All of the food was piping hot and beautifully cooked. Then there was the desserts.....now where do I start when talking about these desserts....the whole range was exceptional, and we couldn't believe the sizes of the portions....overall truly wonderful experience and tremendous value for money (my wife even made me come back the following evening to by a take away portion of dessert).I have nothing but praise for your restaurant, and have already made numerous recommendations for people to visit. Please could you if possible pass on my thanks to your entire staff....WE WILL BE BACK, AND SOON

We visit on numerous occasions and have always been more than pleased with the food..The menu is extensive , the only complaint is that the portions are much too large, We are happy that the menu has been revised and that there are now smaller portions on some items . We certainly continue to visit on a regular basis.

I've been quite a few times since my last review and I'm sorry to say that standards seem to be slipping somewhat. This seems to a direct result of their increased popularity as the meals yeaterday weren't up to their usual standards. My granddaughter complained to me about the salad in her hot chicken skewer as the sauce only tasted of vinegar and the salad had not been shredded as is normal. My daughter's hot steak sandwich was on ciabatta, (as it said on the menu but as she'd never had ciabatta she didn't lnow what to expect.) She's now decided that she won't be ordering it again. Finally we come to my all-day breakfast. The "grilled" bacon had been fried and was covered in grease, the sausage wasn't a sausage just a flat meatball with herbs and then fried, also swimming in grease, the mushrooms were tinned and fried, need I go on. The restaurant was very busy that lunchtime and I suspect that this was the cause of most of the problems, so we'll try it at a different time of day.

After having had it recommended to me by both my son and daughter, we decided to try it today. What a surprise we had, both the service and the food were excellent and the portions very large. My wife only managed half her salad as there was so much of it. My steak and kidney pudding was also very good. The only drawback is that we couldn't have any of the sweet courses as we were too full from the main course. A shame really as they are known for them. Maybe next time it'll be a starter and a sweet. We will be going there again and I can really recommend them.
