I used to go here 3-4 years ago for a period of about 5 years and rated it as one of the best Italian restaurants overall in London. I hope that this situation has not changed, and I will be going again in several weeks and will report here as to what I find. The food was always of a high standard and quality, without being "poncey", and the wine list was one of the best Italians in town, all chosen by the proprietor, Enzo, and covering a broad quality and price range for all pockets. The grappas on offer were stupendous, with many available that you cannot find in the UK, and worth many trips back until you have sampled them all! Service used to be exceptional, not hindered by the bevy of attractive young women mixed with experienced older staff (of both sexes!). Meeting Enzo, the owner, is also quite an experience, as he represents the best of English born Italian origin restaurant entrepreneurs, and he will also bend your ear about the second love in his life (not his wife) - his love of Ferraris, attested to by the photos on the walls. You will always find plenty of beautiful fresh flowers, but always make sure you book upstairs, unless you are a fan of eating in windowless cellars downstairs.
