Tanvi’s (formerly Amaia) is a fine-dining Indian restaurant on Northgate in the heart of Wakefield. It’s a beautifully appointed venue serving a wide range of traditional and modern dishes prepared by the experienced kitchen team. Choose from a delicious selection of Indian vegetarian, chicken, meat and seafood delicacies and a full takeaway and delivery service is also available. Tanvi’s is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Sunday. And after a recent renovation there is also a smart new private dining room that can accommodate up to 22 people. We went there on Saturday night with family . Really busy evening but staff handled it well . Food was excellent especially Chicken Karahi and mixed sizzler plate was very nice. Children loved it . Cost slightly on the expensive side for some dishes, feels worth it though. Would visit again .

We came here Friday after reading all the very good reviews. And we left utterly disappointed. We heard the waiter telling a table the menu had changed and they wanted it to be more authentic Indian as they had changed chef's, but there's noway that a authentic butter chicken tastes like packet chicken in tomato soup. My partners meal was bland too, weve had better tasting Jars from the supermarket. After listening to 3 tables around us, they all had the same opinion. As the old say goes, if it's not broke don't fix it! We've never been before this week so I fear we've missed out on the good stuff!

Came here on a friends recommendation and wasn't disappointed food was amazing and staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable the liver tikka was beautifully cooked and my wifes paneer tikka was the best paneer ive tasted i had the goan curry which was heavenly sweet and just hot enough without being too much the garlic naan was light and fluffy and full of garlic mmmmmmmm can throughly recommend if you like indian food thank you

Went on a Friday night with my mate and was really good. Nice food and staff. Clean tidy place and plenty of space. I would go again.

We have been going to Tanvis for a lads curry night regularly since it opened and changed hands. The food is, as always, excellent and we find the dining experience a great night out. There is a wide variety of choice for everyone, service is first class and it is priced really well and it is value for money. If you’ve not been yet I would recommend giving it a go I’m sure you’ll enjoy the experience.

We have been to Tanvis many times and have never been disappointed. The food is lovely and the service is very good. We took my mother in law last night for the first time and she really enjoyed it.

Food was nice. Service was very slow. We had to ask a few times for a jug of water for the table. Drinks came but took a while. Food was missing from our order and took a while for this to be rectified.
