I have been going the 'Tav' for years. I usually have the excellent full English breakfast, although I have also had the equally excellent evening menu meals. All the food has tasted great and plenty of it. The breakfast meals have free coffee/tea refills and again plenty of it. The atmosphere is of a relaxed nature, and it is a great place to settle down and read the provided newspapers while waiting for, and eating your breakfast. All to a very good soundtrack. A special mention for the staff who are very friendly and happy to help.

9 of us went to the Tavern last Saturday. Atmosphere was buzzing i felt like i was in a restaurant somewhere in New York. The food was fab, we weren't rushed or kept waiting. One of the staff did shout then not so delicately place the food on the table which was a little abrupt. The toilets could have been cleaner however they rang to confirm booking, which i think is a lovely extra, on the day and overall it was a lovely night out.

This place is amazing i went on a Saturday evening and had to wait for an hour for a table but it was well worth it... we had the burrito and the enchiladas and both were nice big portions and very tasty. They also had table cards out advertising the Sunday breakfast so with hangover we went back the next weekend and had another great time i couldn't believe how busy this place was for a Sunday. will return, gr8 food and gr8 service. Thanks to all at the Tavern!!!

I recently went to the Tavern with my mum and we weren't impressed. The starter were nice we had potato skins and breaded mushrooms but are mains were not. Ihad the steak and my mum had the days special which was only can be described as a steak baguette. The total pice of my steak was 16pounds and it wasn't anythink special. We also found the restaurant rather dark and the music as well as our waitress loud. I am afraid i will not be returning to the Tavern for a meal in future.

I used to enjoy Tavern & Co but recently service has been very poor and food is always late, and often cold/incomplete. I can only speak for allerton branch but I would not recommend it.

We ate in the Tavern last night and it was probably one of the worst meals we have had in a long time. The starters weren't too bad - nachos and chorizo pancake, but the mains were terrible. I ordered the cajun red snapper off the specials and had to return it. It was watery and 'on the turn'. It was certainly worse for wear. My partner had the other special on the menu - a chicken dish which was microwaved to death. Won't be returning...you can sample higher quality cuisine, for a lot less in the area
Ilove food
Just been for a late breakfast small wait but well worth it the food was quick, fresh and piping hot, vege sausages where a bit worse off but everything else was great. huge fluffy pancakes, juicy sausages and hot buttery toast will be visiting again soon. well worth a try for an easy sunday morning/ early afternoon

I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for a Sunday morning, The food is amazing, and you can spend a lazy morning reading the papers without being rushed!
