Yet another publican but same old crap on the menu. You need to wade through the fag ends, broken glass and other litter plus the usual doorway anchored smokers to get to the pub's innards. They haven't changed in years despite the outside being tarted up. Very ordinary pub grub, but OK value. Plenty of better eateries in nearby villages. I'd give this one a miss.

The Arnold has had a fair few changes of landlord over recent years however the restaurant itself is comfortable, clean and the table/seating arrangement is good as you don't find yourself sitting 'on top of' other diners.
The food, traditional pub grub mainly and usually a Sunday carvery, has ranged from fair to very good - it depends on who the landlord/chef has been at the time.
There is no food available at present as the pub is being run temporarily by the head barman (following the sudden departure of the previous landlords) who knows the job and the regulars inside out. I can't praise him highly enough for his knowledge of the job, his service, and his unfailing cheerfulness and politeness.
He is also a font of knowledge and comes in very useful when you are stuck on the last two clues when doing the crossword in one of the many daily papers provided by the pub!
