Stumbled on this place by accident, and what a find! Cosy and friendly atmosphere with a mix of locals and visitors making a difference from the typical faux traditional food pub (no rakes, ladders or bikes on the wall). Food was imaginative (even the veggie option), hearty without being too much and well cooked. I shouldn't recommend it really as it can get busy enough already and i'd like to be able to get a table!

This is a very cosy and friendly place. The chef makes outstanding food (the parsnips are my favourite.) and there is always enough to make you feel full but not uncomfortable. With two real fires this is a great place to snuggle up in the winter with a pint of your favourite beer. Brilliant.
TOFFS
A great find - upmarket bistro food in a very comfy and friendly pub. Sunday lunch good too.
