The Borough is located on Dalton Square in the centre of Lancaster and it is the only place in Lancaster listed in the Michelin guide to eating out in pubs. On a daily basis The Borough offers fine ale, wine, food and rooms. Fresh produce comes from local farms in the surrounding area and there is a large selection of wine, spirits and CAMRA award-winning ales. An onsite microbrewery continually produces The Borough Pale, Dark and Bitter and a private function room is available for weddings, birthdays, christenings and any other occasion you wish. The Borough also has nine beautiful bedrooms created by local interior designer James Mackie and furnished to the highest standard. Lancaster Comedy Club is held in the function room every Sunday from 8pm and over the years it has featured many great acts from Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Have I Got News For You. It's definitely worth a visit. Whether it's a quiet pint, lunch with a loved one or a special occasion, you will always be greeted with a friendly welcome.

A really pleasant experience every time. I have been visiting the Borough for a number of years and not once have I walked away feeling disgruntled! Great service, delicious food and a perfect ambience for any social occasion.

In the midst of this credit crunch this place is packed! that tells you something, it must be good. people are going out less and only going places that offer a great product at this time. I had a great lunch and will be going back!

I have eaten here several times and I love the atmosphere of the place. Service is quite relaxed and maybe a little slow but it is by no means bad. The menu is a little limited but the food is fairly good.

Lancaster foodie
Really lovely gastro - pub style food with a great atmosphere for drinking or eating, and brilliant value too but feels pretty upmarket. I?e eaten here a few times and never been disappointed by the food or the really friendly service.
