I agree with Duncan. The fish was huge, the chips real, the tartare sauce homemade and the best I've ever had, and the mushies had some sort of spices/flavourings but the chef wouldn't tell us his secret.

The Brew house falls in the gastro pub category for sure and in my opinion is 1 of the best examples in the area. With the resurgence in gastro pubs over the past few years, it’s difficult to stand out from the crowd, but The Brew House certainly does stand out for the following reasons:
- The food is amazing! I had the beer battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tarter source. The portions are hearty as they should be in a gastro pub and everything was made from scratch Inc the Hand cut chips, fresh tarter source and the most amazing mushy peas. For desert I had the wild berry cheesecake which was fantastic and light and the base nice and crunchy.
- I'm not one for real ales and bitters, but the micro brewery is very impressive and a nice back drop whilst sat eating your meal.
- Most of the menu seems locally sourced, seasonal and made to order.
The head chef even found time to come to our table to see how we found the food.
All in all, the Brew House is one of the best gastro pubs I have ever been to and is well worth a visit.
Enjoy.
