we call in at the Buck regularly on our way to the lake district and it is well worth the visit. THE friendliest pub/restaurant i have ever been to, the food is excellent, quality and quantity! you will never leave this pub disappointed but i would advise you to book, it is VERY popular!

We visit the Buck Inn whenever we can with other family members. We love going there as Steve and Rachael always make us welcome . The atmosphere is great and the food is always top class. It is always worth the drive from Accrington worth while.

This has got to be the best by far! I am coeliac and have never been treated or greeted so well in a restaurant since I was diagnosed 5 years ago. The food was excellent as was the choice. A very friendly, helpful and value for money meal. We enjoyed the ambience and the atmosphere. What a pleasant surprise we shall certainly be returning soon and I plan to organise a trip over bringing with me folks from the Manchester group of the coeliac society. Thanks Rachael and to all your staff too we had a perfect evening.

Visiting the Clitheroe area and checking web-sites for restaurant recommendations led us to this site and the Buck Inn. All the comments were positive. The Inn is tucked away but when we got there ( a Monday night ) it was almost full of diners and people waiting to eat so booking is probably necessary. Very often high expectations lead to disappointment but not on this occasion. My starter of black pudding was delicious, not obviously fatty. Mains of steak and dumplings and veg. option of mushroom stroganoff were excellent, beautifully cooked and really tasty. Full marks to the Buck Inn and recommended.

We have eaten here at The Buck Inn a number of times and the food really is excellent!
A main course cost anything from around £8.95 to £14, but its very good value for money when you consider the sizes of the portions (be hungry when you arrive!)
I can recommend a number of dishes - Pendle Lamb, Homemade Ribble Valley Lamb/Steak Pudding (changes but both are excellent!) and my personal favourite; The Paythorne Whale - the batter is so light and crisp without the grease.
Desserts too - Made right on the premises by Charlotte apparently.
Children are welcome and oozes that family run pub charm so lacking today in many so called PUBS. This is a real happy place to take your loved ones.
Of course there's always a downside to somewhere that serves food as excellent as this ... you can try to book but they are very busy so turning up on spec means a wait if you are lucky but believe me is well worth the wait. If you are there for opening time (6.30pm except mondays) then you should get a table straight away.

me and my husband were introduced to the buck inn by a friend years ago. we live over 7 miles away but every time we want a meal out it is always to the buck we go and to make the journey quicker we have even bought a caravan on twyn ghyll which is only 200 yrd's away so we can visit more often .The food is second to none the gammon and eggs is the best i've ever tasted and the staff always make you feel at home. lt's a place you feel at ease to go in on your own. which l have done and they go out of there way to look after you. It has a great character with old fashion values and prices to match

Great pub/restaurant with lovely food at an excellent price. VERY BUSY so make sure you book, because of this it is sometimes a little noisy but this all adds to the ambience and the service is always very good. An excellent place to enjoy home cooked pub food, the staff are extremely friendly and you could not enjoy a better country pub atmosphere. My husband and I highly recommend a visit no matter if you live local or not.

What a find!! hidden down a beautiful country lane The Buck Inn is by far one of the best eating and drinking houses around. The menu choice is unbelievable for the size of the pub and the prices are reasonable. The gammon is awesome and sourced locally apparently. Service is truly amazing to say how busy they get, a credit to the staff who unlike most places do afford you a smile for your trouble. Truly exceptional!!
