We had a sunday lunch here overall the experience was fine but not brilliant.

My recommendation is don't visit unless you want to wait half an hour for a menu then one and a half hours for poor food

Dined here for the second time a couple of days ago, and have to say the reasonable impression we had on the first occasion was not matched. I had Steak & Ale Pie with Chips and everything was burned. When I told the waiter this his response was to smile and walk away. My wife's meal wasn't burned, just tasteless. I left my wife to pay the bill as I was so mad I would have created more of a fuss.
Bad food, indifferent service, and a don't care attitude means I won't be going back again. (and who else in this day-and-age doesn't take cards?)

The food is a bit hit and miss, I have eaten there on more than ten occasions since moving to the area but after the last time will not return again. On a good day they can serve very good food, my favourites have included the mussels and venison haunch. However on other occasions they have overcooked the main courses, last time the Sirloin steak and lamb shoulder were very dry and tough. The woman who runs the place was in such a bad mood that night I didn't feel able to complain, so were not going back again.

I have eaten at this Pub on 3 occassions in the last 6mths, the 1st for a romantic dinner for 2, the 2nd for a 40th birthday party & the 3rd for a family Sunday dinner and all were fantastic.

Have been and eaten here on several occasions. Fantastic food wine and service. Have stayed overnight in their comfortable B and B with a fantastic English breakfast in the morning. Everyone has always been extremely welcoming and I would love this to be my local!
