The Cornubia Inn has been a fixture in the heart of Hayle since 1867 when the imposing Grade II-listed edifice was built by local brewer Christopher Ellis. And depending on who you ask, it’s named after either a steam engine or a steamship. These days it’s still at the heart of the community and is known for its sports, music and food. You can catch all the major sporting events on three large screens spread through the venue and there’s live music every Friday and Saturday – as well as poker, pool, darts, a quiz night and an Open Mic night. Food is served lunch and evening and there’s also a popular Sunday Carvery. The pub has a lounge room with a log burner and comfy sofas, a large garden area and a selection of comfortable and modern ensuite rooms.
