I took my children for lunch and ordered the expensive childrens fish fingers and chips and pizza and chips. The portions were small and the pizza was horrible. I ordered the tomato pasta with bacon and peas, this looked lovely when it arrived until I noticed that it was swimming in 1/4 inch of greasy orange oil. We were very disappointed and won't be going back.

Just been to have a look at the "new" Fairhaven. What a disappointment! My chewy sirloin steak was served with shrivelled mushrooms, chips that has obv seen better days and a grilled tomato, the chilli sauce was just glutanous gravy :( My huband's roast pork was dry and this was offset by soggy broccoli. With a glass of pinot grigio and a pint of Wainwrights the meal came to £30.15. Only 2 other tables were occupied, now we know why.

Very disappointed with my first meal returning to the Fairhaven. There were 4 of us eating. (Thursday 7.30pm). We had to wait nearly 40 minutes for food, then a further 5 minutes for the condiments. The gammon was fatty, egg shell in the fried egg, under cooked chips and cheap mayonnaise. There is no wine list and only one bottle of red wine on offer!. The bill was £62 for a very disappointing meal. The plates then stayed on the table for another 25 minutes until I took them all and placed them on the bar. You also need to advertise that 2 for £10 meals finish at 5pm! It then becomes expensive and poor value for what is being offered.

Fur Coat no knickers - overpriced, average food, one party of people left just after meals had arrived saying they were not acceptable......

Visited mid afternoon on a Friday when the pub was very quiet. We were impressed with the choice of vegetarian options on offer - much more choice and varied than we would usually find. We chose Mushroom Stroganoff served with rice & salad and Stuffed Peppers served with rice and salad, together with a side order of battered onions & peppers. Service was polite, friendly and quick. The meals were delicious - prepared with fresh ingredients well cooked. Overall an excellent dining experience and we will definitely visit again in the near future.

THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER ENDURED!! IT WAS REMINISCENT OF FAWLTY TOWERS WITHOUT THE GOOD SCRIPT. THE MANAGER WAS SULLEN AND THE VERY YOUNG WAITRESS GIRLS INARTICULATE. WE HAD TO FIND OUR OWN TABLE AND SCRATCH AROUND FOR A MENU. A STAGGERING 90 MINUTES LATER COLD SOUP ARRIVED FOLLOWED BY BADLY BURNED SHRIVELLED SALMON AND A BAKED POTATO WHICH WAS SO OVERCOOKED THAT IT TASTED OF SOOT. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. DO NOT VENTURE IN THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUMP YOUR PARTNER OFF!!

This pub is a traditional pub in the best sense. The menu really caters for all tastes even vegetarian and fussy eaters as well as those who like their steaks and veg etc.
Great selection of real ales and always a good atmosphere any night of the week.
Highly recommended.
