I have been a regular customer for a depressingly long time ( over 40 years ) and I am in tune with local feeling re the Fleece . It has been the social and community centre of Penwortham for over 400 years and any attempt to turn it into a " FOOD LED PUB " would destroy the essential character of the pub and ruin the hub of our community . I realise that the pub is shortly to be refurbished . In my opinion it is essential that it continues as a PUB FIRST and restaurant second . We already have more than enough restaurants in Penwortham but only one pub worthy of the name .
