The Hinds Head is a country pub with rooms in the pretty Lancashire village of Charnock Richard, close to Chorley and convenient for the M6 and M61. Lunch and dinner are served daily - as well as breakfast at weekends - and the extensive gastropub menu offers plenty of choice. Starters include Garlic and Rosemary Chicken Skewers with a lemon and thyme mayonnaise and McRob’s Black Pudding and Hogs Pudding with an apple cider sauce. Mains range from steaks to Chicken, Garlic and Lemon Risotto, Oven roasted duck breast with honey and spice, served with fondant potato, green beans and kale and Slow cooked brisket of beef, roasted garlic mash, red wine reduction and roasted roots. Sundays are very popular with a choice of roasts on offer and the lunch selection during the rest of the week is great value. The décor is a blend of rustic and modern with snug areas, an open fire in winter and for summer a beer garden with rural views over Rivington and Winter Hill. The Hinds Head also has comfortable accommodation and is the perfect choice to break a long journey or explore rural Lancashire.
