We called on the off chance while visiting Ramsbottom. Me and my family visited and had a great meal and will revisit.

I had a meal on Saturday 9th Feb with hubby and friends. The friends had not been before but i sang your praises. Even though seafood risotto was not on the menu, i asked could they possibly make it for me, like they have previously , again , when not on the menu. Yet again you satisfied my requirement. Thankyou and a good night was had by all.
i am 60 on March 19th and i am getting a party together to have a meal there on the 21st. I will be intouch with numbers.

Visited the lounge 2 weeks ago, and it was poor. Very overpriced, no real choice on the menu. For a winter menu to be dominated by salads is not a well written menu. This was our 1st visit back to the lounge since the kitchens head chef changed, and its gone from really really good, to really really bad!

First time diner having visited many other local restaurants. The Lounge has nice interior, service functional, good choice of menu but some dishes on Sunday night not available. Starters of mushroom and artisan bread very disappointing, plaice excellent, really nicely cooked, pork well cooked but for £13 not value for money. On balance not enough to lure back again given prices of dishes.

We enjoyed our first visit to the lounge, all the food tasted great however the duck main course was not to our taste (too salty). What put a dampener on the evening was the lack of service from the front of house staff towards the end of our meal, after finishing our meal we had to order from the bar and it was evident to us that the staff really were not that interested and were more interested in going home, ie when I asked if we could have a capuccino as well as the wine and beer the response was "I suppose so" come on guys it wasnt even 11pm!
Sorry guys but this isnt really the way to promote your business in these tough trading times.

Went along for lunch today and it was a terrible experience. The service was poor which you can make allowances for if the food is good - however....... I had soup to start but couldn't tell what it should have been, it was just terribly salty.
My main course of the chicken stuffed with tomatoes and goats cheese was disappointingly bland and the 'fondant' potato was a lump of a greasy, hard substance that I would struggle to call potato - it was certainly inedible. Having decided to skip coffee, we asked for the bill and after a 10 minute wait in which time the bill didn't appear, we had to approach the bar to pay. Needless to say we didn't leave a tip and we will not return. I would normally have said something to the staff but as I was in company, I bit my lip - actually that was tastier than the 'meal'!

The first time we dined here, we were very impressed by the relaxed ambience, stylish decor and service. The food was excellent and offered good value for an evening meal - the pork belly was delicious.
We returned for lunch a couple of weeks later after shopping in Manchester, choosing to support our local hostelry however the story at this time was quite different. The service was amateurish and haphazard, the table (and floor) was covered with the remnants from the previous diners, of which we had to ask to have removed.
I ordered a chicken Caesar salad which was tasty but at £7.95 represented a meagre portion; I took issue with the manager who said I should have notified them when it arrived and offered no recourse; I even gave him a solution to knock a couple of pounds of the bill to keep a local customer loyal and happy. His response? "If I knocked money off every time customers complained we'd never make any money!"
I was angry with his lack of regard to the issue at hand and thought that the owners should be aware of this. I emailed them and was told it would be investigated; they replied some time after and advised me that as a result there would be a starter portion and a main portion on the menu. I applauded them for this however I asked how they planned to deal with my plight. I received no reply.
Until I began receiving spam emails from them that is.......
We will not be returning here as they do not value their customers.

I won't be recommending The Lounge to anyone!
Our visit on Friday 6th Feb 09 was the worst experience we've probably ever had, no really! Poor service, no atmosphere, loud noise and management's attitude when we complained were all what you don't want when your out.
On arrival, we enquired about waiting times, '20-25mins' so we ordered a beer. After several enquiries, numerous excuses but no apology and a gruelling 75mins we eventually sat down, adjacent the kitchen entrance and staff loitering area. We should have gone with our instinct after 50mins but as it was our first visit, we gave it the benefit of doubt. How sorry we were!!!
I could go on but won't.
Our opinion is if you want poor service with an attitude and to sit next to the kitchen entrance, get served a tough steak without a steak knife go here, otherwise find somewhere else.
