About The Malt Shovel
The Malt Shovel is a friendly community pub in the heart of the pretty village of Barkby, on the northern fringes of Leicester. It’s comfy and characterful with wooden-beamed ceilings, fireplaces and a restaurant that used to be an old jail. There’s a large beer garden too where you can even enjoy a game of Pétanque. Food is served Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday Lunch from 12 noon to 6pm. Expect a classic, home-cooked pub grub menu with loads of choice and using locally sourced produce.
