Was just driving past at lunchtime today. Called in for a quick bite. What a nice surprise it turned out to be. Wide menu for lunchtime. beautifully prepared meals in lovely surroundings overlooking the Leeds Liverpool canal. Will certainly go back again.

Very impressed with the new look. Service was greeted with a friendly smile and food very good. Have recommended this to others and shall be back again.

Visited on a whim for lunch after driving past.
I think the place has only recently had a refurb, as the entrance in was very confusing. A bar at the front, with some tables/chairs and then a restaurant behind where the plastering hadn't even been finished. It took the staff a while to recognise we were waiting for a table and there seemed no system for greeting customers.
We were seated at the back, in a corner. The restaurant was dingy, needed the lights on despite the sunny weather.
We ordered and endured a 40 minute wait for our good. Considering it was basic pub grub there was no reason for the wait - and we weren't the only ones in that boat, there were plenty of other hungry looking diners around the restaurant.
The service was poor, there were plenty of staff but they seemed unsure and it lacked someone with strong front of house management skills. When the food came it was good, apart from a roast beef sandwich that was more butter than beef. My partner had a burger, which was good with a giant onion ring.
It was an average meal at a restaurant/pub that needs to decide what it wants to be.
