The Oak Bistro is an independent local bistro in the heart of Cambridge in an historic building ripe with Cambridge stories. Created by Philip Newman in 2008, they’re passionate here about quality British and European food, cooked to order with traditional recipes - and best enjoyed with exceptional wines from their list of 150-plus bins including fizz and stickies. Diners have a choice between the charming dining room and the heated courtyard garden and signature dishes include Pan Fried Scallops with pea pureé, parsnip crisps & balsamic reduction, Slow Roasted Crisp Pork Belly with apple compote and mild mustard, Confit Duck Leg with braised red cabbage & rosemary jus, Beef Wellington with mashed potato, spinach and red wine gravy, Chocolate Fondant with vanilla ice cream and Vanilla Panna Cotta with Cognac flambeéd prunes. All dishes are cooked to order and any dietary requirements can be catered for. There’s a full bar too with a bespoke cocktail list.
