The Old Kent Barn at Swingfield, near Folkestone, is a family run events venue set in an idyllic rural location. There are two barns on site -- a purpose-built 110-foot oak-framed barn for weddings and events; and the original 'Old' barn for accommodation which was built more than 225 years ago. The barns are set in manicured landscaped grounds and surrounded by picturesque Kent countryside. The gardens, with formal parterres, are planted with romantic roses, sweeping curved hedges and there is an informal lake garden with a lit fountain -- all set against a backdrop of mature trees. Over the last five years, Head Chef James Crank and his team have transformed the Kitchen at the Barn, drawing on his experience at some of Kent and London’s best restaurants, including time with Scott Goss at The Swan and with Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley. The Old Kent Barn has also just been named Barn Wedding Venue of the Year for the second time in the British Wedding Awards.
