Really lovely lunch out in the September sun under the old tree. Peaceful and calm with my superior smoked salmon open sandwich. Love an old historic pub

Two meals here so far and I intend to make it three very shortly. The food is excellent, the portion sizes good, the ambience and staff very friendly. Beer and wine selection should, I imagine, cater for most tastes. On top of all this, the pricing for the meals I have had were very competitive for this area.

Visited this pub on Sat 6th Feb and cannot recommend it highly enough. Such a lovely old fashioned pub with a roaring fire. Ordered a drink and then went straight to our table. Really nice menu, struggled to pick something off menu because I wanted everything. Eventually chose scallops, lamb and orange creme brulee. The food was absolutely delicious and really well presented. Staff were great too. Prices were good for the quality of the food. We will definitely be going back soon.

This country pub is a real gem. The restaurant has a nice relaxed feel. It has its own car park and really tasty food with good sized portions. My dad and I were particularly impressed with the selection of homemade desserts and icecreams.
Well worth a visit.

Pinnacle pub lunching! This place saved me after a night out, honest food and top notch real ale! How many pubs have lobster thermidor on the menu? Wanted spend all day there trying the delights the chefs have on offer! In a word it is coruscating!

My Wife and I have had the pleasure of dining at this establishment. The food is always of the highest standard. The real ales are refreshing and a break from the norm. The staff are always friendly, make us feel welcome and always happy to help. Well worth the distance from Manchester. I highly recommend it anytime of the year.

Lovely old village and old pub with terrific ambiance. Well worth repeated visits if only to enjoy the draught beer (Timothy Taylor's) and the excellent young staff who are attentive without being obtrusive, very polite and extremely helpful. The same can be said of the manager.

Lovely old village pub with 2 areas for dining, the pub or the conservatory restaurant. I can only comment on the pub menu, which is not extensive, but does have good quality locally sourced produce available. Food is served efficiently and is of a very good standard. The puddings are worth saving room for! You can also get a decent pint of timothy taylors to go with.
