We have eated at the Peppered Pig several times and it is now THE best in the area! The food is superb, the service excellent and the ambience just right. We have made a recommendation to Hardens Restaurant survey Guide for the past two years...hopefully the Peppered Pig will make the print next time!
Forget the rest (if there are any) and eat at the best!

After weeks of trying to book a table here we finally got in! Let me tell you its was more than worth the wait!!! The dining area is beautifully decorated and the ambience superb. We were given shots of soup and "crisps" as a taster. The starters followed, they were lovely, my husband (who is a chef) ordered belly pork - WOW - it looked and he said tasted fantastic. Then came the chocolate brownie and home-made vanilla ice cream - absolutely superb! The waitresses were a credit to the management - friendly and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble! The other bit of good news is that they are now opening all day Saturdays and Sundays!! would advise everyone to book in here and go!!!

Looking forward to our fourth visit for a family birthday on 4 July with real anticipation. Beautiful surroundings, friendly waitress and unbeatable food. An intimate venue like this cannot routinely offer a wide vegetarian selection, so we would advise mentioning this at the time of booking - and then be delighted with the resulting gourmet food! Cannot recommend too highly (but this might be a mistake, as then everyone will know how good it is & we won't be able to get in again for ages....!)

I visited The Peppered Pig on Saturday night with friends and was not disappointed, we were greeted with Hor d'oeuvres of Homemade Carrot and Coriander soup( which was so nice my friend had it as a starter) and potato and Chorizo which was delicious, we had a idea we were on a winner by now. I had risotto for starter with king scallops and i can honestly say it was the best risotto i have ever tasted..the rest of the meal was just as delicious and i tried the Liqourice ice cream which was beautiful. I have to say the waitress were very nice and helpful and were a credit to the owners..(plus they kept filling us in on the England score!.) all in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Hope to get back soon.
Never To Return Diner.
Saturday evening: the food was super but the service diabolically slow and the noise level from several tables meant that the waitress could not hear our order. Now and again there was evidence of music being played. As a dining experience, it was a nightmare! The room needs acoustic modifications, tables spread out more and a limit put on the noise level of some diners. If you want to leave with your ears shredded, this is the place to go!

What a beautiful place!! I went for a meal out with friends to the Peppered Pig and had a fantastic night! It is beautifully furnished in a lovely area. The food was all beautifully presented and served by very pleasant and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a nice meal out. I would also recommend the homemade liquorice ice-cream...........its to die for!!

I have just been for Sunday lunch with my wife on a friends recommendation. The staff were very welcoming and service was excellent. Sunday lunch is usually a carvery or a "rushed affair" but this was a totally different dining experience. I had the homemade pate which was delicious, then roast loin of pork which was locally sourced and seasonal vegetables all cooked to perfection. My wife had the Yorkshire pudding to start with and they were enormous (delicious gravy too). Then the leg of lamb arrived and it was so succulent. Then the creme brulee (which is my wifes favourite sweet) the best one ever in her opinion. A breath of fresh air in Sunday dining. Will definitely return soon.

Visited The Peppered Pig and was not disappointed, the surroundings are tastefully decorated and very welcoming with a large patio area for the summer to enjoy a meal and bottle of wine, which i am looking forward to experiencing once the sun comes. Our meals were cooked to perfection arrived hot and very well presented by a smiling and pleasant waitress. Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed.

An absolutely brilliant dining experience in the heart of East Cowick, well worth a visit. The chef produces exquisite food which is backed up by friendly and helpful staff. However, make sure you are hungry when you get there! Watch this space for a Michelin star.
