The Priest Hole is an ancient building right in the heart of Ambleside dating back to the 16th century. It’s a great spot with seating inside and out as well as an upstairs function room that can seat up to 30 people. There are open fires and even a real priest hole in the kitchen, although it’s now glassed over. Expect classic British food served right through the day from 12 noon to 9pm with signature starters such as their Duck Hash and mains like the Priest Burger or Pie Of The Day. There are ‘Market Day’ specials every night and a special Fish Night on Tuesdays and Steak Night on Thursdays. They also specialise in traditional afternoon teas and Sunday Dinner is served all day.
