Ate here last night pre show and very impressed. Chilled local bar atmosphere in town, service prompt but not intrusive. We were served in plenty of time for the show yet not rushed. Food excellent we had a starter a pasta dish and a pizza and pudding ( can recommend the tirimasui ) and a beer and the price very reasonable. My friend who has a small appetite even ate 3 courses because she couldnt leave any of it and we didnt even look at the specials board.Would heartily reccommend if you are in this area of town or even if you're not.

This is a really good restaurant. Very informal. great location. Simple and very tasty food. Does not overphase you and so leaves room for fab deserts. Staff very attentive and friendly. Nice atmosphere.
Fizzy Fish
We visited here for a meal for the first time this week. Hubby and cousin had pizza which looked amazing and how a pizza should be. They even made the pizza to my fussy cousins specification! without fuss. Wasn't impressed with my pasta though I had the Amatricana and it was a bit on the cold side, pasta was too heavy. Desserts looked good and were enjoyed by some of the group

Good food, awful service. Everyone around us complained. Will not return.

Ate at the Quarter on sat 02/01/10. In a party of 9 and we waited 30 minutes to be seated and then it was on a bench.
Food unimaginative and bland. Garlic bread was just a pitta bread warmed up & served with very little garlic infused oil. The garlic mushrooms & garlic bread consisted of 3 small mushrooms on the above described pitta bread.
Only redeeming factor was fresh pasta was used in their pasta dishes, let down by using preformed chicken in the dish along with cheap bacon and the fact that the portion size would only just about fill a small child.
I also object to being told a surcharge of 10% will be added to the bill as our table had over 8 people on it. Tipping is discretionary as far as I am concerned.
On the whole, would not recommend it at all to anyone visiting Liverpool. Did not bother complaining at the time because, could not be bothered quite frankly as I just wanted to leave

Always tasty, very friendly service - try the tiffin if you are feeling greedy
Starving At Quarter Bar
Ate in the quarter last night. The food was poor, i have never eaten such dry bread in my life. The service was average to say the least. For what we had to eat and drink £35.00 per person was very expensive.

I ate at The Quarter and as always, the food was superb, the atmosphere was great and the waitresses were friendly and efficient. My only concern was the state of the toilets. One of the two female toilets was out of order, as it has been for over a year, and the other was not very clean and the bin was overflowing. There was nowhere to put or hang my bag and I didn't like to balance it on the sink as it was soaked and messy. I do hope the management can resolve this problem as several of my friends have also commented on the state of the toilets when they have been there. It's the only down side in an otherwise excellent restaurant.
