Went there for a birthday lunch on Sunday 26th October. The food was truly awful, very slow service, vegetables not cooked and would you believe that one if our party ordered breaded garlic mushrooms which arrived with some mushrooms on a piece of bread swimming in creamy sauce. I could go on but I won't. Just so sad that it was a let down as my family came from down south. Not a good advertisement for northern cuisine and won't be going again.

Terrible service, even worse food and disastrous service . Went here in August 14 and ordered roast beef Sunday dinner ! How can you go wrong ordered beef but underneath the beef was chicken to fill it out and the veg was cremated it was black dry and looked like the last time it was boiled was a fair few hours ago ! Awful complained and the second attempt was the same meal just re-plated without the chicken and veg a very small plate returned . The third time I gave up and let the rest of the party eat without me. Overpriced and the restaurant was filthy on arrival peas and potatoes all over the floor and the windows and surfaces were filthy this pub requires complete renovation, staff training and huge investment into what is a great location and a good pub in it hay day the 1980s/90s very disappointed will not recommend.

went with a friend for lunch and her 18 month old.i went with family in 2008 and was great even with the kids. Now not a good place they had a wedding on and took over a hour for food had to ask twice for it. never got a receipt for what we paid for, never offered any sort of service at all. We where treated like a nuisance. rather wish they had said they where closed, totally spoilt our day out. Food not that clever as chips burnt and no kids menu , totally another family pub gone to trendy gastro route get a grip families are big day trippers to the chevin.

This pub has been recently refurbished and has obviously got a new chef to compliment the new decor as our meal was delicious! I had the homemade soup (with homemade bread!) followed by succulent steak (only £9.95!) This place is a hidden gem and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys excellent food in breathtaking surroundings at a very reasonable price.

Stumbled across ROYALTY on Otley Chevin, this pub was buzzing to say it? off the beaten track. Serving traditional food at reasonable prices open lunch and evening 12-2.30 and 5.30-9pm and all day through the summer holidays I had the steak and ale pie which was the best I have ever had, big portions. Definitely go back for more excellent vibrant pub lovely setting.
