Other than the castle, the Three Tuns on Broad Street is the oldest building in the historic book town of Hay-on-Wye. It’s Grade II-listed and encased within the stone structure is the original timber frame building with a wealth of period features including an Inglenook fireplace and the original dog leg staircase. The décor is a mix of the old and the new with dining rooms both upstairs and down. Landlord Dan Heele and Consultant Chef Rod Lewis have created an Italian-inspired menu with lots of pizza, pasta, meat and fish choices as well as beef, chicken and vegan burgers. Except on Sundays when instead there’s a popular Sunday Roast.
