The Crown & Castle is a good restaurant experience. Very pleasant surroundings, excellent attention from the staff and a high standard of food and wine.
I dined there on 26th October in their private room and the meal and service were their usual high standard. There is always a good selection at lunch and dinner of local produce and the quality of the cooking is always satisfying. It is not the most inventive food in the world but I would rate it as one of my favourite places to eat in East Anglia as it always offers a very good dining experience.
The surroundings in Orford are fabulous and the Crown & Castle itself is a pleasing building.
My meal on my last visit was langoustines followed by a Moroccan inspired lamb and couscous main with a creme brulee to finish. Nothing particularly spectacular but extremely well presented and most importantly delicious.
I would thoroughly recommend the Crown & Castle for lunch or dinner. Get there early and have a good look around the quay and the castle. A very good dining experience in beautiful Suffolk
