This was our first visit to the veggie since the new owners took over,it has to be said we were somewhat reluctant. However we need not of worried,we arrived after a lengthy walk across ilkley moor & were welcomed in by Julie (the new owner) she was friendly & informative.
After long look over the menu Julie helped us decide what to have, I choose the Veggie Mezze (large & plentiful) & my husband the Veggie Burger (much enjoyed)
Both arrived promptly & were delicious & well presented.
Afterwards we were unable to resist the temptation of the Guinness cake (amazing) & coffee.
I must say we will certainly be visiting again soon.
I feel sure Garry & Julie will do a marvellous job here.Good luck to you both.

We had dinner at the Veggie Cafe last night as part of their Summer Nights promotion (£15 for 2 courses). The owner/chef, Kim Green, was very friendly and helpful, and is now trying to keep afloat all by herself, which is no mean feat in the current economic climate.
We had a delicious gardener's soup with soda bread and a fresh-tasting watermelon and halloumi salad as starters, followed by a spicy vegetable Masala with coriander rice, and a very rich, tasty mushroom lasagna. Portions were generous. We just found room for a chocolate brownie dessert and a baked apple and blueberry pudding. We couldn't fault the food or service, and hope to come back again soon.

We booked the Lebanese night at the Veggie. What a disappointment and I mean disappointment. To be serviced a couple of spoonfuls of couscous and three tiny rock hard tasteless veggie balls for a starter is not acceptable. The main course was no better, this time five spoonfuls of tasteless uninteresting bean mush. The only good thing about the whole experience was the desert - which was bought in, and the wine that we brought along. If you like plain uninteresting food and eat like a mouse then you will not be disappointed.

I live just above the Grove in Ilkley and visited The Veggie recently on a Friday evening. It has to be said the food is very good for the price, it tastes home cooked and the salads are wonderful. The prices are OK at £7 ish for evening meal, only thing I would say is the place is a bit small (they had to turn people away) but I suppose that's cozy. There are quite a few places in Ilkley to eat but I would say this is in the top 3, I will be going again and I am not even a vegetarian.

My friends took me to lunch at this cosy vegetarian restaurant situated very near the centre of Ilkley. We had cheddar and cranberry melt and lentil and bean chilli with homemade mince pies for afters. The meal was superb and the service was very friendly and efficient. I can highly recommend this as a great place to dine when one is in Ilkley.

I now live in Ilkley and visited G&B in early October with my two children, (6 & 8). I chose a special from the blackboard which was a seasonal vegetable stew with sage dumplings, it was delicious. Tom and Catherine shared an egg mayo sandwich which came with a small salad (the bread was really very good, apparently it is from the locally famed Bondgate Bakery) and they both said it was "scrummy!". They also offer a selection of traditional cakes which like everything else is homemade - we had Victoria Sponge and Banana & Walnut Loaf which were wonderfully light and moist. To sum up, I would say it's a welcome addition to Ilkley, family friendly with simple tasty food based on good principles, vegetarian and organic - we will go again.

I had seen this new restaurant whenever we drove past. Then at last I had an opportunity to come here with my vegan friends and although I am not vegetarian I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I shall certainly come again and can recommend this to anyone visiting Ilkley.

This is a cosy little café situated fairly close to the centre of town. It comes in very handy too when you are shopping in the nearby superstore to drop in for a quick snack or lunch. We’ve been on two occasions and have enjoyed both visits. The meals were delicious, the service was cheerful and friendly, and the two young ladies who run the business are ever so ready to accommodate your dietary needs. This is a great addition to the eateries in the town and a very good reason for visiting Ilkley.

We heard about this newly opened vegetarian café and decided to give it a try. It is a small café, cosy and very friendly. The two young ladies who run it are ever so friendly and helpful. I had the butternut squash and chick pea curry, which was very delicious. Situated fairly close to the centre of town, it is a welcome addition to the attractions of the town. We shall certainly be coming here again. I can recommend this place to one and all.
