About The White Hart

The White Hart started life in the 18th century as a beerhouse on the banks of the River Severn and today is home to one of the premier fine dining restaurants in the Ironbridge and Telford areas. This traditional English pub has been sensitively refurbished and has an easygoing and relaxed feel. By day, the café bar-style pub and terrace serves good-quality pub food alongside a tapas selection whilst in the evening the kitchen steps up a gear serving AA-rosetted food in Number Ten, the intimate 40-cover gallery restaurant overlooking the river. Head Chef Sam Morgan-Butler's menus showcase classic dishes with an emphasis on fish along with occasional eastern fusion notes. And the food is ably complemented by a well-chosen wine list with an Old World focus. The White Hart also has five smart ensuite bedrooms if you’re planning to make the most of a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage site. The Water Rat in Ironbridge is a sister venue.

Service was outstanding. My husband had haddock and chips ("best fish and chips he's ever had"). I had a very tasty cheeseburger. Didn't have to wait long for our meal.

Having lived in Shropshire for 4 years we have tried quite a few restaurants, firstly you always know that the food is going to be good when there's not an abundance of options that overwhelm you. The food here absolutely does the talking and could not fault any aspect of it. We were discussing how we would love to share the experience with friends and family, the food actually made the hairs on my arm go up. By far the best food we have eaten in a very very long time.

Gorgeous food, Yorkshire puddings were amazing, the lemon posset and brownies were heavenly. The only negative was that you’d run out of horseradish sauce but the creamed leeks did come a very close second with the mustard in them. Lovely setting, wonderful staff we will be back. Thank you very much
