About The White Horse Inn

Set in the tranquil Cheshire village of Great Barrow, The White Horse Inn is a traditional coaching Inn just five miles from the historic city of Chester. It’s a quaint village pub with a beautiful garden as well as four guest bedrooms on site and a self-catering cottage just around the corner. Nuno and Jess provide a warm welcome to all and it’s a great spot to enjoy a traditional pub meal, a pint or a drink in the sun. Food is served at lunch and dinner seven days a week with home-cooked food sourced locally wherever possible. Menus change at least four times a year with daily specials adding to the mix. The chef is always on hand to discuss any special dietary requirements too.

We booked for Easter Sunday lunch with my elderly parents and couldn’t have wished for better. The hosts discreetly accommodated my request for a quieter table at the side of the room to make things easier for us and the welcome, food and service we received was brilliant. We had a really lovely family time together and will definitely book again!

Nuno and Jess provided a very welcoming atmosphere. We had a delicious Sunday roast. The beef was amazing, as were the roasties and Yorkshire puddings and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Desserts were delicious too. We’ll definitely be back.
