So impressed with the White Room. I went on Valentines day with my partner, we had the steak to share (Chautibriand) off the Valentine menu and all I can say is it was amazing, presentation and taste was out of this world.
Recommend this place to anyone who likes fresh food, they even specialise in gluten free which is very hard to find! Well done to the White Room!!

Came here on a nights Christmas Do...... sorry but no Christmas atmosphere with the music as it is Christmas.... and as for the meal... lovely presentation ... but sadly not the meal to follow and as for paying £14.95 for a steak with so much grisley bits on a bed of soggy oven chips and a over cooked vine of cherry tomatoes served on what look like I can only say a pavement from my garden .... so come on people whoever you are that run this (what can I say.... upmarket shallow haunt who think they are in the in the right place to be and pay these high prices for a bit of presentaion on a slab )..... go home and cook a decent meal yourself... failing that go to your nearest chippy for a third of the price........

Sorry guys, the bar has gone downhill recently, needs totally updating with a lick of paint, and getting really upset about the toilets being used for drugs than what they are intended for. What happened to the old White Room ???

A couple of friends and I went to the White Rooms for lunch on a Saturday in August 2011 and were really disappointed. The food was actually quite good but let down by terrible service. There were three waitresses on staff, none of whom seemed to have much experience in waiting tables but were pretty content to chat to each other and some regulars and ignore us. We were only offered one drink, had to repeatedly get their attention (which was not easy!) to request condiments/coffee/the bill and when we ordered three cappuccino's we served cold, regular coffees with a chocolate dusting - not quite like any cappuccino I've ever seen and all the worse for being cold!! It wasn't obvious whether they always serve cold coffee or whether it was cold due to the 15 minutes that elapsed between the order and the delivery. To make it even worse, the unsteady hand of the waitress poured it out all over the saucers - which we were left to clean up. In the end, we didn't even complain as the waitresses clearly didn't understand the basics of good service so it seemed pointless. It took us almost two hours to get through lunch due to the very slow service, which I could sympathise with if they were having a busy lunch but they weren't - the restaurant was half full and the waitresses were standing around chatting for the most part. It will be a while before I try the White Rooms again, although the food (we had salads and chips) was actually good, it was incidental to a pretty rubbish experience.

A lovely atmosphere, great food and right on the door step! It is something different to all the other food establishments in the local area - well worth a visit!

have been in a couple of times and have loved the place. BUT we went in two weeks ago and it was like some sort of gang meeting place. i felt very out of place. my boyfriend went to the toilet and said they seemed to be doing drugs in there. total shame as i like the place. lets hope they sort it out.

Visited the White Room last night for a drink with my partner. We bought a bottle of wine and ended up having an unplanned meal. We were very impressed with the warm and pleasant atmosphere, happy bar staff, as well as the generous portions of food we ordered from the starter and main menu. I felt well and truly satisfied. The food was fresh, tasty and well presented. It was also lovely to have a selection of comfy chairs, bar stools and sofas to relax on. There was a good selection of music- new and old- I even recognised some vintage reggae music by a 'Lovers rock' singer-Carrol Thompson! which was playing in the background.Looking forward to visiting again -had an enjoyable evening.

I visited the White Room on a busy night, not long after it opened. The waitress tipped a whole tray of drinks over my head and I was completely drenched. I was not offered any compensation by way of apology. Get your act together.
