Whilst visiting Thornton lodge with my family on my husbands birthday we entered the venue and we were greeted with a smile by a supervisor called Paul, it was a big table of 15 people we were all very happy with the service we received by all the staff but i have to say Paul kept us all amused what a good laugh we had that night, thanks Paul

When eating on a budget, Thornton lodge takes the crown on the Fylde coast.... the food is excellently prepared, the staff friendly and efficient and I have yet to be disappointed. Always a treat and for the kind of money it would cost to eat at one of those awful american chain burger places (you know the one, haha), you will leave much more satisfied and having had a good time. The huge burger I had last time defeated me at the last hurdle...... drive past the River Wyre Hotel and eat here instead........ nuff said ;~)

For many years we have gone to Thornton years ,usually as a group of between 4-10 people and for many years we have been served excellent value for money meals. However, Thornton lodge is now a "fayre and square" restaurant and what a disaster! We went as a group of 6 on 22nd march 2010 approx 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. the restaurant was almost empty yet we still had to wait approx 1 hour for our food. A requested well done steak was almost rare, fish and chips was purely batter and chips and scampi and chips, well I’m not quite sure what that was! We complained to the waitress and were offered 1 x complimentary dessert, however we all decided to have a dessert anyway. After putting our order in we waited 40 minutes, the only hot dessert ordered (apple pie and custard) came first but with no spoon but we decided we ask for one when the next desserts were brought to the table not realising we would have to wait another 10 minutes by which time the apple pie was cold! Viennetta ice cream was ordered, this had literally just been put from box to plate as it was still on the plastic packaging!!....never never again will we go there after 7 years of family visits. The meal was appalling, the service diabolical.. Bring back the old Thornton lodge along with the original chef and staff!

I went for the first time to the Thornton Lodge with my friend, sister and mum. We have a beautiful meal, the decor was warm friendly and very inviting. The service was excellent with courtesy, smiles and consideration. It was excellent.
Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

We have been here 7 or 8 times with friends in 2007 and had the two for one meals. They are exceptional value and excellently prepared. You can also have a laugh with the happy staff. Will go a lot more in 2008.
Thornton Lodge
a very pleasant restaurant in which to dine, light and airy together with attentive staff. The standard menu is a little predictable but the special board compensates.
