Went with wife for Sunday lunch after refurbishment. Ambience attractive and the previous Friday/Saturday night nuisance has reduced. Surprised to be asked to pay up front. Starters fine, wine list OK. The roast was OK, the Yorkshire pudding hard. The vegetarian option was unimaginatively accompanied by the same vegetables as the roast and I didn't even try to crack the Yorkshire pudding. Service very slow (took 1 h 40 mins) so decided not to risk a pudding. Asked three times if everything OK- after 3rd 'No' someone came to speak to us. Follow up letter unanswered. Not willing to return until pay up front policy altered. The bill would have been OK if the food and service matched.
