Tiggis preston has been about for years and unfortunately the food is in a timewarp. The English palette has moved on from the anglicised food Italian restaurants served 20 years ago. The venue is pleasant enough and service was OK. A bugbear of mine is dirty sticky menus which should be very easy to resolve!

Excellent meal, good value for food quality, very friendly and efficient staff. Well worth a visit.
Disappointed Coeliac
Coeliacs beware!
When I phoned Tiggis restaurant prior to booking I was told that catering for my gluten free diet would not be any problem and that I would have a wide selection of meals to choose from. However, on the night when it came time to order I was told that I could not be catered for. At this time I was sat amongst a group of friends embarrassed that I would not be able to eat a meal while they all ordered. I clearly very unhappy about that answer and said I had called prior to making the booking and was told that my diet would be catered for. They came back to me saying that I could have a piece of grilled chicken and salad. As this was better than no meal at all I agreed. The meal was literally what they said I piece of chicken grilled, not even seasoned with a large layer of fat on it and the salad consisted of lettuce and half a tomato. When desserts menus were brought around I was completely ignored, not even looked at. Although I would not have ordered a dessert as I realised the chances of me being able to have one after the appalling offering of a main meal was slim, it would have been nice to at least be offered or even just treated as a human being. All my non-coeliac friends enjoyed their meals, but if u have an intolerance be wary your choices are limited.

The food itself is very tasty and good sized portions. However, I do feel it is rather pricey. With growing popularity it seems to have put its prices up. It used to be reasonably priced, now it isn?. Although the food remains excellent. The surroundings are tasteful and usually busy in the evenings and it has a fantastic lively atmosphere which rubs off on to everyone. Service is good, but always room for improvement.
