Really good lunch for the three of us. all were happy with their choices. service was pleasant and unobtrusive.

Although the food was not bad, I can't help but feeling a little disappointed with my visit to the TNQ restaurant this weekend. The menu appears not to have changed much since last year and a Spring menu should feature some seasonal produce. I did not eat anything that I could not have cooked myself. Come on TNQ, you can't just sit on your laurels.

I recently ate at this restaurant for the work 's Christmas meal and my advice to vegetarians is give it a miss. I had the Gnocchi - there was around ten pieces at the most and the sauce was none existent. This dish had seen at least an hour too long in the oven so it was completely dried up. The head waiter was completely disinterested when I pointed out the problem. The dessert was fine, but for £23 it was a total disappointment. Sad really, considering all the good things I've heard about this restaurant.

WORST RESTAURANT IN MANCHESTER!!!
We had the steak and chips and what can only be described as fat on a plate arrived, we complained only to have the manager sayh you have to expect fat with your steak, yeah maybe but how about a bit of steak next time?? Next time someone orders the steak they should just ask for a plate of fat and then maybe they'll get more steak???
Keep well away, a lot better restaurants in Manchester (at a lot better price too!!)

Personally I think this place is doing some of the best cooking in Mcr at the moment.( and I eat out alot!) The early bird menu is a steal @ £9.95 for two courses. The warm smoked chicken salad starter was the best I've ever had. Fanatstic balance of flavours.
Likewise the main of Sea bass with lemon mash and chives, very clean and modern. No cream or butter reliance here! Fantastic food...

Had a truly lovely experience at TNQ last night. The food was beautifully presented and tasted equally good. It was good to see the busy kitchen working so well and cheerfully and producing an excellent standard of food in a reasonable amount of time. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Although it isn't cheap, the whole eating experience is well worth the price. Highly recommended!

I keep going back when I'm in Manchester and it keeps getting better! I went to one of their theme evenings earlier in the summer and it was fabulous.
The lunch menu looks a bit limited if it's a treat but they did the a la carte when asked and there's always specials on the board.
I always ask about the food and it's mostly locally sourced, sometimes from the farmers market.
Must be a good neighbourhood venue if you live in this up-and-coming area. My nearest restaurant is the Sharrow Bay but although I love it I can't afford to pop there any old day like you could if you had TNQ round the corner...

Had a really yummy Sunday lunch here recently. Roast beef exactly as it should be. Papers to read, chillded music and atmosphere and extremely friendly relaxed staff, I hear they now open on Sunday evenings too. I also went for a mid-afternoon lunch and had a burger to die for with the chef's own pepper jam. Lots of cheaper options up to 7pm but even after that there's good velue options, good house wine and lots of goodies for special occasions. I had my friends two kids with me and they served up good kids portions too even though it wasn't on the menu. Definately a place to go back. For a slap-up meal for my husband's birthday next!

Try this place out last night after moving into the area last week. I'm so pleased that I've got such a great place to eat on my doorstep! I can see I'll be spending more time eating at The Northern Quarter Restaurant than in my own flat as it's great food and great value and the staff are fun and make you feel so at home!

Visited last night and tried out their new menu. It was great! It had a real modern English sway to it. I started with the seared tuna which was cooked to perfection then went for the cod with cheese and onion mash. Both were superb as were my wife? breast of chicken with potato and gerkin cake followed by sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce. I was too full for dessert all though I was in the mood for getting down some knicker-bocker-glory! The wine was good value - a house cab sav at £12 for the bottle. Great night and will definitely be going back soon as!!
