My wife and I dined at the Troutbeck Inn on 26/09/08 and had the finest meal we have ever had.We have booked to return with a friend in 2 weeks.The ambience was perfect and the staff very attentive and helpful.It will definitely be one of our regular treats.

We were the first table of the night so I expected better than we got, really.
My minted lamb shoulder was burnt on the bottom and to the side and gravy was strangely tasteless. My husband received a lovely large piece of haddock but this was let down by the frozen chips it came with. My sons pizza was burnt. Deserts were very nice though.
Came to £48 for two adult mains, 2 childrens mains (deserts included), 1 desert, 2 pints lager and 2 cokes.

We were a party of eight and all choose widely from the menu. Our total bill came to £156 including drinks.
The staff were absolutely marvelous and we had a super time - nothing was too much trouble.
