Service slow and less than friendly. Had to get own drinks from bar as the waitress seemed to lose interest. Eventually ordered.
Chicken curry a little cold and pinkish. Pointed this out to the waiter who said he would consult the chef. Twenty minutes later waiter failed to reappear. Went to till to pay, saw waiter and asked if chef had any views on Chicken, he said he had "spoken to his mother" ,the chef, who said the chicken must have been ok as it had been cooking for two days ???????? No offer of recompense in fact the waitress asked if we would like to include a gratuity when paying the bill. Poor food, unacceptable service. Went to Bath for desert !

I come from this area and now live in France, each time I go back to visit I would always eat at the Upton Inn, it is just superb I give it 5 stars not only for food but for quality, surroundings, friendliness, and cleanliness
