We run a B&B a couple of miles away and have sent hundreds of guests to the Vaynol over the years, without a complaint and many commendations. We also eat there ourselves. The traditional food is always freshly cooked and delicious, You might have to wait a while as it's NOT straight from the freezer and microwaved! Just have another pint of real ale at the adjacent real pub bar! The "Specials" board changes frequently. The vegetables are charged extra which is unusual but well worth it. This is a real local pub with real locals, and interesting old pictures from the nearby slate quarries.
