Very disappointing experience. Service very, very slow. Waited about 45 mins to be asked what we would like to eat and at least 2 other tables of diners who had arrived after us had their orders taken first. Other guests at another table left - wish we had. Food was ok, though have eaten better (wondered just what the 2009 award was awarded for and by whom - looked on leaving but wasn't clear). Didn't take dessert as was worried about how long it would take them to serve. Paid bill using bank card. It was inserted into the machine but then the waiter waltzed off with my card (still in the machine) so had to chase after him to retrieve it. Not good with amount of fraud these days. Shall definitely not be visiting again when we come to Harrogate.

We came across this restaurant by accident when walking back to our (very disappointing) hotel in Harrogate. This was the highlight of the weekend though; fantastic quality food with a real taste of Italy, as opposed to the usual cheap anglo/american version of the food. The cheese on the pizzas was real mozzarella (can't eat cows milk) so a fantastic find for me! A wonderful atmosphere, fantastically attentive staff and real attention to detail. Can't praise it enough.

Found Vivido by accident, my husband and I stopped there. Very clean, very friendly & attentive & helpful staff. Food was excellent, loved the garlic bread!. Price was reasonable. No wonder it is named the winner of Best Mediterranean Restaurant Award 2009. Superb.

We had the Sunday lunch deal on 25 January 2009. It was good value for money and compared favourably to other Italian restaurants in harrogate. The portions were large and the service was good. We also ordered the garlic bread as an extra and it was delicious.

Let this be a lesson to all diners....don't let the funky decor and misleading menu descriptions fool you into entering this restaurant. The mozzerella and ham starter with tomato sauce was bland and under seasoned leaving me reaching for my glass of water to help enhance the flavour. Following this was the meat cannelloni which contained less meat than a Linda McCartney sausage but a years supply of spinach, enough to keep popeye happy for a while anyway. Maybe more attention should've been to the food than the funky decor when they started this venture.
Then to complete my dining experience i was shocked to find that a gratuity was automatically added to the bill. I would never have tipped anywhere that served such bland food but for them to assume that their food is good enough to deserve this is down right ludicrous.
To conclude - Lovely surroundings, great decor.......awful food...

Visited as a group of 2adults and 4 children during the opening week and the service was really good. For Harrogate, so was the cost! Food was lovely and an impressive menu selection. No children's menu as such but they were happy for the kids to share pizza. we would definitely return. Enjoy!

I once ate at the cafeteria in Morrison's. This was slightly better in taste, but I paid twice as much. Service? Ambience? The place was dirty, the service was poor. So what'd I pay for? The cafeteria style place settings? No thank you.

Have tried Crostini Al Funghi (ciabatta with mushroom & caramelised red onion) as well as Bruschetta for starters - both very delicious, and for mains we very much recommend the "Pollo Primavera" (chicken with veg in a creamy white wine sauce). It may seem a bit pricey to some but is worth every penny.
The starters only took about 7-10 mins but the main course took another 40 minutes at which point we were both getting a bit "too hungry & too annoyed to wait" and the restaurant wasn't busy at all (it was around 10pm) but the end result of freshly cooked delicious meal was well worth it.
Staff was nice and friendly, too.
