Fantastic value for money. All food freshly cooked. Restaurant itself is immaculate and well organised. Staff all friendly, helpful and smartly dressed. Recommend to anyone wanting a nice ride out. Carvery at a fantastic price but also offers a full menu including a children's menu at great prices. We eat out an awful lot and can honestly say this Restaurant is one of the best we have come across so far.

Been to this pub/restaurant twice now. The first time (months ago) wasn't too bad, the food was pretty cheap, but my meal was over cooked and was replaced, by something only slightly better.
I went again two nights ago with a friend and was extremely disappointed to say the least. I ordered the "Tomato, cheese, and broccoli bake", there wasn't a trace of tomato (stated a tomato sauce), it was basically a bowl of cheese with about 3 peices of broccoli. My friend had a chicken curry, she said it was awful and the sauce was curdled. After complaining, the manager eventually showed his face and told us that the food was in fact bought in frozen! I asked why the menu said the bake was in tomato sauce and he couldn't give a proper answer. He was very reluctant to satisfy us and in the end gave us a partial refund of £2.75 between us! Outrageous. I won't be setting foot near the place again, I will be sticking with the Blundell Arms who don't microwave their meals!

Went in for a meal in the week early evening and the place wasn't very busy,i ordered from the so called a la carte menu and my partner had the carvery that seemed like great value but was obviously mostly frozen vegetables and bought in frozen Yorkshire puddings and the meat was rubbery like it had been microwaved, when advertised fresh local produce,i am sure there is a law about that somewhere? My main meal from the menu came,a steak, which was like leather and over cooked, after asking for it to be medium, also the table and carpets where quite dirty which didn't make me enjoy the meal too well,i would recommend NEW management as the service was slow .On my way out of the car park i saw who i thought was the manager stood outside the door of the kitchen with kitchen staff having a cigarette, now is that something you would like to see before or after you have eaten there?Won't be going again, and have heard lots of bad opinions from other people who have been there too.

A good meal at a very reasonable price especially if you use the £6.95 menu 3 courses included, a great place to eat and chat no rush, especially during the week.

We called in one after not being in for years, to find it was under new ownership, Its now has home made food with real chips, its a great Sunday carvery, a good meal deal offer, a 3 course for £6.95 plus a large ala carte to choose from and so nice and clean inside to other times we?e been in. The new owners have only been there approx 16 weeks so ive been told, keep up the good work. its also a family pub

Discovered this place totally by accident. A bit trepid initially on seeing that we were the only ones that early Friday night. However, the food was absolutely outstanding and the service impeccable...the chef even came out to see if we were enjoying our food. It got busier later, which would have been nice atmosphere. Planning on visiting again this week.
