Visited Wetherspoons Queens Square today with my daughter who recommended it for good food. My burger was cooked in the middle and burnt black on the outside it was not even warm and neither were the chips! The only thing I enjoyed about the meal was the coke to wash down the burnt burger that taste like rubber that I could not continue eating because it took too long to chew! If they had a chef instead of cooks I might of got a decent meal. Won't be going back.

Weatherspoons has a wide menu range of food with plenty of choice, good cheerful bar and table service and a fine choice of wines, spirits and non alcoholic drinks

Re Gt Charlotte St. branch Liverpool: Went (2 of us), on a Tuesday lunch time, beginning of October. Never been to this branch, but have been several times to one in Hoylake. Just wanted a simple reasonable meal - & (thought) knew what to expect. Decor etc: Dark, dingy, grubby feel- (should have taken as a hint) . Ploughmans was not available- so my friend chose all day breakfast- not great I had vegetable & noodle dish, with added chicken- hot chilli- but cold temperature. Friend had to plump for 3rd choice of lager as again, choice not available. Went to toilet- The 'check list' said checked regularly- but I dont know what they check, not state of toilets obviously: Ist - lock broken, 2nd, no paper, 3rd baby nappy on floor, 4th had to do although still no lock. Generally poor state of affairs
Derry, Liverpool.
I have always been of the thought-of-mind that you go to a pub for beer, and a restaurant for food, full stop! Not any more..... I must recommend the shoulder of lamb, served in a mint and rosemary sauce, with a compliment of mashed potatoes, carrots and brockly. The shoulder of lamb was so thick I wondered if I was going to be able to finish it. However, once I tasted it I knew it would not be a problem at all. The lamb was so well cooked that it just flaked off the bone and was a complete delight. The gravy was as if it came from a 5-star restaurant and the carrots and brockley was absolutely cooked to perfection. Being diabetic, type 2, I have to watch what I eat a little more than most, but I can say without doubt, I will definitely be back again for this meal. I would add, I felt I could marry whoever cooked this wonderful dish, be they female or male! Derry. Liverpool.
