The food looks good, but I couldn't access the restaurant as it is on the first floor of a building, requiring stair access. I went with a wheelchair user who couldn't access the restaurant and so couldn't sample the menu. I appreciate that the design of the building doesn't allow wheelchair access, but it would have been helpful if the website could have reflected this.

The atmosphere here is lovely but I find the food a little average. Why do they not have some more modern options on the menu as well as traditional vegetarian favourites? The food is vegetarian yes but the inspiration behind it is circa 1960. A particular low point being the cardboard style flan pastry. The interior is disastrous, more nursery than cafe but you can't knock the people and service. Or the cakes and the whale tail salad. Not bad overall, but let's just hope it doesn't get any competition.

I eat here once a month and am always impressed with the food, which is very imaginative tasty and unusual. The staff are always cheery and friendly and so the atmosphere is always relaxed.
Whale Tail Vegetarian Café
I have eaten here many times, good imaginative home made food, both fry-ups and healthier options. The Whale Tail salad bowl is particularly good. A pity it's not open in the evenings.
