Dating back to 1609 when the first brick was laid, The Wheatsheaf at Beetham is steeped in history. It’s also at the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty right on the border of Lancashire and Cumbria that’s famed for its unique wildlife, stunning scenery, hunting, fishing, superb walking and historically important buildings. Recently refurbished and restored to its former glory, the inn is once again an integral part of the community with great food served at lunch and dinner, local ales, award-winning craft beers and a huge selection of wine, gin and rum to enjoy. There’s a beer garden too when weather permits and four well-appointed guest rooms up in the rafters if you want use the Wheatsheaf as a base to explore this special part of the world.
