I don't know where to start on the White Hart.
I've visited a lot of establishments in my time, but I've never met such rude hosts in my life. It was absolutely disgusting.
As for the food, the portions are average, but the food was cold. We had microwaved mushrooms on the very poor steak, and the chips weren't hand cut as stated on the menu, but were frozen and twice cooked.
As for the beef dinner, the beef wasn't cut off a joint, but was uniform slices that had been processed.
But overall, it's the attitude of the owners that really sticks in my throat (a bit like their food).
VERY POOR.

This pub is advertised on the Internet as the 'Best pub in Wales'...however, I beg to differ...the food was possibly THE WORST I have ever tasted, my chicken kiev was overcooked and completely dry with no garlic sauce in it at all, my wife had the chicken chasseur and quite frankly she had tasted better from homepride, the chips we were served up were obviously McCain crinkle cut...so much for home made as was advertised..The vegetables were not cooked properly and the landlady was incredibly rude and abrupt and maybe needs to attend a course on people skills as at the moment this appears to be lacking. The most annoying factor about this pub (you cannot seriously call it a restaurant!!!) is that if you want to order beers with your food, you have to pay for them with cash only as they can't be added on the food bill (which you have to pay for before you sit down to eat I may add!!!). All in all, extremely disappointing, the only positive thing about the pub is that it looks absolutely beautiful....apart from that...this pub is to be avoided!!!!!

This pub should be a real winner. Thatched roof, beautiful surroundings, loads of history.. and ... THE RUDEST STAFF EVER.
My wife and I had a memorable (for all the wrong reasons) meal here. When going to the bar to order, the chap in front tried to order but hadnt taken his table number. He pointed to his wife just 5 metres away and said "That table" in the empty corner they were sat on. The lady behind the bar insisted that he get her the number (even though I would hope the staff knew the table numbers.. How do they get the food out??). Alarm bells were then ringin when I ordered the mixed grill and asked for my steak to be done medium. I was told that i would have to have my steak "as it comes, as there is a lot for the chef to keep an eye on" !!! I was so stunned, I didnt even think of doing what i should have, which was to walk out. I paid and sat down.. still stunned. The catalogue of rudeness un un helpfulness could be witnessd from our table thoughout the evening. It was the only subject of conversation betwen my wife and I.
The food was OK, although we were suprised for the table to be set(incorrectly) and starters served by the eight year old grandaughter.
Never again will I visit the White Hart until I hear of a change of management.
AVOID at all costs
happy chappie
