About Wigan Central

Wigan Central is Wigan’s only dedicated Real Ale & Cider Bar and offers a unique environment and atmosphere to enjoy an eclectic variety of real ales and ciders from brewers from all corners of Britain and beyond. It’s situated in the historic nineteenth century railway arches on Queen Street and they have been brought back to life by the bar. At any one time there are seven real ales and eight craft beers and ciders on offer alongside a range of 100-plus bottles, Continental beers and a selection of quality lagers and wines to choose from. There are also Scotch eggs (five varieties), pork pies, cheese boards and a selection of bar snacks.

The service is great from Jo and the team at Wigan Central and the range of beer is always excellent. The pub was really busy on my latest visit but the queue at the bar disappeared in no time due to the efficiency of the friendly staff.

I have visited Wigan Central several times during outdoor service. On my recent visit, 13 May, the heavens opened. Fortunately for me the beer was excellent and the staff very cheerful. An excellent combination that all venues should aspire to. Looking forward to a beer indoors!

Best bar in Wigan. Always a friendly welcome by all the staff. Great selection of draught beers, bottles and cans from the beer library. Handy for both stations so good to pop into before or after a train journey, and the live timetable feeds are useful. Looking forward to the return of live music.

What a venue fast friendly service, we only had table for 2 hrs asked for more and someone cancelled so was offered and we accepted plus 6 more turned up and they managed to seat them for 12:00-14:00 so kind sadly to full after but thank you again .
