Just want to say how disappointed I am at the windmill as one member of staff asked my son who has aspergers syndrome to remove his cap ...Lewis never removes his cap and rarely removes his sun glasses which he had on this occasion ! As he has a problem with his eyes and it causes massive anxiety when he removes it ...when I tried to explain this to the female staff member she replied it doesn't matter he needs to take it off ...how rude and not at all dissability aware !!! This is the first time I have managed to get my son away from the usual restaurant he goes to as well so well done the windmill for a great experience ...not !!

Apparently caps are not allowed to be worn in the carvery and this is not publicised. Only when we were seated with our meal and drink were we told this by the manageress. No other member of staff pointed this out to us, on this occasion or on the numerous times we have eaten there before. Our only options, barring removing the cap which was not possible, was to eat in the vault! or take a refund. Very unprofessional. So a quiet family meal with our daughter granddaughter and her father was ruined by a jobsworth manageress. If you have house rules, please advertise them or at least inform your staff.

I would just like to say how refreshing it was to dine at the windmill, the service was very good and the food was quite exceptional with great value for money. This place is an absolute must on any bodies itinery Gazza

Having not been to the Windmill in years and hearing lots of good things about it of late I decided, on the spur of the moment, to check it out. So on Saturday, 5pm off I went and I took my 11 year old daughter with me. All I can say is that it was fantastic value for money. My daughter had a slice each of beef, turkey and gammon and I had beef and gammon. The meat melted in the mouth and was extremely tasty, we piled up our plate with peas, green beans, carrots, cauliflower cheese and boiled and roasted potatoes, smothered with lovely rich gravy. I was extremely impressed. Things to note. Pay for your meal at the bar and get a ticket to hand to the carvery staff, time it right - had we got there 30 mins later we would have had a bit of a wait. Overall we had a great experience and will be repeating it soon.

I wish I could recommend this restaurant, but unfortunately we never got as far as sampling the food. When the first course arrived, one of the dishes was not what we had ordered. When we pointed this out to the server, rather than apologising for the mistake, he insisted that I had, in fact, ordered what he had brought. There followed a rather heated discussion, during which no attempt was made by the server to rectify his mistake. Consequently, we asked for a full refund, which, after three further mistakes, we received, and we took our leave. There is no way that I would recommend that anyone visit an establishment staffed by such ill mannered people!

The Windmill offers great value money in terms of the restaurant. However getting served is a different matter, esp. in the vault. Whilst the majority of the staff are great, there are one or two obnoxious individuals who spoil it for everyone due to laziness.

The Windmill pub in Denton is well worth a visit. It is just £3.50 for a meal from the carvery and it is exceptional value for money i think. The meat is served to you and you help yourself to the vegetables, i can recommend the cauliflower cheese.

I went today and would NEVER go again! It must be difficult to find such surly, slow illiterate staff but they managed it. I ordered a salad which took ages to prepare and did not come with any salad dressing nor was any salad cream or mayo available.
The vegetarian carvery was just help yourself to vegetables!
I know that the food is cheap but that does not have to mean poor quality.
I recommend going anywhere else.
