About Witton Castle Country Park

Set in 330 acres of beautiful Durham countryside, Witton Castle dates back to the fifteenth century. Today, this idyllic estate features high-end luxury lodges and caravan holiday homes as well as an excellent range of facilities including nature reserves and lakes for both activities and fishing. Within the castle itself there are bars, a coffee shop, a soft play area, a fish & chip shop and the Witton Castle restaurant which is open Wednesday to Saturday evenings and for Sunday lunch. The menu features classic pub favourites and a traditional Sunday roast, served in a unique and historic setting.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the castle, very generous portion sizes and quick service along with lovely, friendly staff. Looking forward to trying the other menu options in the future. Would benefit from some sort of background music to create more of an atmosphere whilst eating.
