Woodchats is the coffee shop at Chorley Interchange bus station and it's a veritable haven for home baking. Owner Ruth Phillips learned to bake with her mother and grandmothers and two years ago she decided to take the plunge and open her own coffee shop. Cakes and cookies are baked daily on the premises along with home-made soups and there is also a selection of sandwiches and toasties made to order. Seasonal dishes features as well as their signature Sausage, Lancashire cheese and homemade chutney toasties (a range of jams and chutneys 'all homemade' are on sale too). Woodchats is easily accessible for buggies and wheelchairs and is open from 8am to 4pm. Monday to Friday and from 8.30am on Saturdays. You can drop in just for a coffee or a tea or something more substantial. The cakes can also be ordered 'whole' to take away for special occasions.
