Situated in the Welsh border market town of Ruabon, the Wynnstay is an imposing Grade II-listed hotel, bar and restaurant dating back to the 18th century. Close to both Wrexham and Llangollen, it's the ideal base for exploring the Welsh countryside or visiting the Shropshire market towns of Whitchurch and Shrewsbury. The Wynnstay reopened in spring 2018 after a major six-month refurbishment programme which delivered an up-to-date fresh country house feel whilst maintaining a sympathetic nod to the rich history of the pub. The Wynnstay Arms’ new menu celebrates mouth-watering pub classics, with favourites such as freshly made beer battered fish and chips, pie of the day and the delicious Bwydlyn pork sausages with mash taking prominent pride of place. The pub’s traditional roasts continue to be served every Sunday from noon, with a large selection of meats to choose from alongside tasty vegetarian options. The guest bedrooms have undergone a complete transformation whilst retaining the pub’s historic character and the pub’s large function suite has been transformed with a contemporary look.
