Had a superb meal here last week. A brilliant full flavoured fish soup for me and the wife had some cured salmon declared delicious. For main courses a wonderful duck shepherd's pie and a steak with some beef cheek on the side - top cooking. Desserts were a struggle given the portion sizes but we managed a great pannacotta and some of their own ice cream. What an oasis in these parts!
The Not So Fat Duck.
Excellent food and very cheap when considered in terms of quality of the food and variety of dishes provided.

Fantastic! Great welcome fantastic service and a wonderful menu. We went Lunch time and had a great experience. Very Child friendly whilst maintaining an Adult area. Lovely!

Y Polyn is a unique building formerly a toll gate located on the junction of two country roads in the County of Carmarthenshire West Wales. It may look like an ordinary average isolated rural pub from the outside, but experienced chefs Maryann Wright and Susan Manson have made Y Polyn far from average. Together they cook simple food like rabbit terrine with peach & apricot chutney, fish pie, salt marsh lamb, welsh black beef, all of which are locally sourced. The enhanced flavour and quality of the food served certainly impressed us.The atmosphere is homely and totally relaxing, the bar which is run by husbands Mark Manson and Simon Wright has an excellent choice of wines also real ale locally brewed. The whole experience must not be missed and we consider it value for money which we are pleased to highly recommend.
